    Michael Sticka

Michael Sticka’s love for the arts began when artists and art groups visited his school to perform, creating some of Michael’s fondest memories. As a co-founder and volunteer executive director of The Zoot Theatre Company, he’s “paying it back” by bringing main-stage productions of classical works of literature and educational programming to more than 10,000 school children each year. Michael volunteers to help children, especially those from inner-city schools, realize the same joys of experiencing art that he had as a child.

Serves as a one-on-one aide at Camp Sunshine Read More

    Amy Van de Water

Amy Van de Water serves as a one-on-one aide at Camp Sunshine, a retreat for children with life threatening illnesses and for their families. Amy first went to the camp as a guest in 2006 after her niece was diagnosed with a brain tumor and saw, firsthand, the care given not just to the child, but also to the family. That experience led to her long-term commitment as a volunteer, staying with one camper throughout a entire week’s experience.

Technology & Insight

Blackbaud seeks to give back to the nonprofit sector by sharing our expertise and industry knowledge. More than 8,000 grassroots organizations and individual fundraisers rely on free technology solutions we provide. Each month, we publish the Blackbaud Index of Charitable Giving and the Blackbaud Index of Online Giving, sharing expert commentary about trends in philanthropy. Tying technology expertise to hands-on service, we help nonprofits improve results through programs like Thank-A-Thons staffed by employee volunteers.

Serving Others

We believe that service to others makes the world a better place and actively encourage our people to get involved in their communities. Our Volunteer for Vacation program allows employees to serve nonprofits in exchange for extra vacation days. About 90% of Blackbaud employees volunteer, giving an estimated 100,000 hours in service in a year. Team Blackbaud, our employee-led volunteer corps, provides opportunities to get involved and the Nonprofit Leadership Circle connects individuals who serve on nonprofit boards, providing a forum to learn from each other.

Preserving the Environment

Blackbaud strives to be a responsible member of the community, doing our part to protect our natural resources. We work, both as a company and through individual effort, to preserve the environment by implementing an array of green business practices and by educating employees. Greenbaud, our employee-led environmental corps, offers environmentally focused initiatives such as oyster bed redevelopment projects, beach sweeps, and a community garden effort called Sprouts.
